Job Description

 The Directorate of Finance’s Audit, Accounting and Financial Services Group (B2) has a requirement for accounting and resource management services for the National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and other Intelligence Community (IC) Agencies. The Junior Accounting Technician will maintain the official pay and leave records and process biweekly payroll for civilian personnel assigned to NSA and IC agencies, processing and computing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances and pay differentials (i.e., Foreign Language Incentive Pay).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clear 100% of the unpaid leave reports on pay processing weeks.
  • Process PCS pay entitlements in accordance with organization goals/metrics. Specifically process living Quarters Allowance (LQA)/Temporary Quarters Subsistence Allowance (TQSA) within 21 business days of receipt and Foreign Transfer Allowance (FTA)/Miscellaneous Expense Account (MEA)/Separate Maintenance Allowance (SMA) within 14 business days of receipt.
  • Validate and process timesheets entered in the payroll system with 100% accuracy; Process HR provided actions in payroll system with 96% accuracy.
  • Leave, base pay, unpaid leave, transaction balances audits should be completed during payroll processing.
  • Update existing SOPs to reflect system process updates within 30 business days of implementation of new process; Respond within 1 business day to phone messages and email communications to work towards a resolution in order to achieve prompt payment of invoices.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in performing financial, payroll, and accounting functions.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS//SCI) level clearance requiring a full-scope polygraph.
