Job Description

The Directorate of Finance’s Audit, Accounting and Financial Services Group (B2) has a requirement for accounting and resource management services for the National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and other Intelligence Community (IC) Agencies. The Junior Accounting Technician will receive and process debt letters; update, schedule, and apply payroll deductions in the financial and payroll system of record, perform debt adjustments, communicate with debtors, provide and process financial hardships and/or Voluntary Repayment Agreements, credit and rebill, and write-off uncollectable debts as Close-Out and/or as Currently-Not-Collectable (CNC).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Log and process debt letters and debt information in the government’s financial system upon receipt within 5 days of receipt in accordance with organizational metrics; Process, schedule, and apply payroll deductions in the payroll system and the government’s financial system.
  • Update existing SOPs to reflect system process updates within 30 days of implementation of new process.
  • Respond within 1 business day to phone messages, email communications to research and resolve questions in order to facilitate prompt payment of reimbursements.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in performing financial and accounting functions.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS//SCI) level clearance requiring a full-scope polygraph.
