Job Description

The Directorate of Finance’s Audit, Accounting and Financial Services Group (B2) has a requirement for accounting and resource management services for the National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and other Intelligence Community (IC) Agencies. The Junior Accounting Technician will examine, process, and prepare vouchers for payment of invoices and billings received from commercial vendors and other government agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Log all incoming invoices received via electronic commerce or hardcopy into the government’s financial system as soon as they are received; Review all invoices for items provided on Accounts Payable checklist for proper payment prior to submitting to COR for approval; Validate all of COR information in the COR Tool prior to submission of invoices for approval. 
  • Review invoices with COR approvals utilizing the Accounts Payable (AP) checklist to ensure payments are made in accordance with Payment Integrity Information Act (PIIA) standards.
  • Update existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect system process updates within 30 business days of implementation of new process.
  • Complete payment/invoice processing within 30 days to meet Prompt Payment Act requirements, avoiding 100% of interest payments; Capture and execute 96% of discounts as offered by commercial vendors.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in performing financial and accounting functions.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS//SCI) level clearance requiring a full-scope polygraph.
